Thought For Today – Thich Nhat Hanh on Miracles

Thich Nhat Hanh on Miracles

“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle

But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air,

but to walk on earth

Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize:

a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child

– our own two eyes.

All is a miracle.”   Thich Nhat Hanh

Amen! I really get this on a deep level due to spending my childhood working outdoors on our family farm. My roots are deep in nature and everyday miracles. I’m grateful!

      Betsy…
His writing is so simple and profound. Although I don’t read through his books in one sitting, I have a few on Kindle so wheneve I need a Thich ‘boost’, I can dive in and read a few passages. He is one of the great ‘living’ teachers. Fran

    Hi Fran! I love this:

“Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize:
a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child
    – our own two eyes.”

Miracles happen every day. It’s learning to open our eyes to them. To take notice of them.

      Bryan,
